Ryan Burke and Dennis Laye founded Burke & Laye LLC in 2004. Since then the firm has defended serious felony cases in the Circuit Court and misdemeanors in the District Court in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Anne Arundel County, Howard County, Harford County and Cecil County.

Burke & Laye LLC is located in the historic Charles Village section of Baltimore City on the corner of Maryland Avenue and 25th Street. Our offices were built in the 1890’s and still display many of the original features used at the time. We open weekdays at 8:00 a.m. and are here in the evening or on weekends by appointment.

Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence situations can be very complicated because often the "victim" doesn't want to pursue the case or wants to drop the charges before trial and the State's Attorney will not agree to do so. DUI/DWI

Drinking and Driving charges become more complex because every year the legislature makes significant changes to these laws. Here at Burke & Laye LLC we keep up to date on these changes to better advise you of your options. Drug Charges

If you are charged with a CDS (Controlled Dangerous Substance) charge, you need an attorney who is experienced with the drug laboratory procedures and the chemists.  There are also ways to challenge the probable cause of a warrantless arrest or a house raid.  CDS cases can be very technical and almost always require an experienced trial attorney.  Here at Burke & Laye LLC we have handled well over a thousand CDS cases so we have the experience you need.

Warrants and Failure's to Appear (FTA)

If you believe there is a warrant for your arrest we can help you. We can verify that a warrant was issued and advise you where to turn yourself in. We can also ask the court to recall the warrant or we will appear with you when you are brought before the judge who issued the warrant for a bail review. In many cases warrants can be resolved without you being arrested.

Assault & Murder
